Fine tuning: page 8 of 16
Run it live as a game master
Where this works
- Works todayThe Run page under Advanced editing in WolfStorm’s Studio: take control, hand back, pause, and pause all AI.
- Next WolfViewer releaseThe full GM Console in WolfViewer.
- On across Wolf Territories (each region at its next restart)Sessions start when players join in the world, so there is nothing to run until your region has the next update.
Every published game runs by itself, with the AI Director keeping the pace. You can step in at any time as the game master, like the person running a tabletop game, then hand it back.
What the AI Director does
- Runs your timers, hints and ways on.
- Notices when a party has been stuck for about five minutes and helps: a hint, a character sent to fetch them, or the scene set again. It never fails them.
- With Improvise on, writes a short line of narration within your box.
- With written lines only, it uses your rules and costs nothing.
Take control
In WolfViewer
Next WolfViewer release- Step 1: Open Wolf World then Games & Stories then GM Console.... Pick the game and session.
- Step 2: Press Take control. The AI Director stands back.
- Step 3: Use the tabs: Story, Cast, Narrate, Party, Rewards, World, Rules and Assist.
- Step 4: When you leave, press Hand back. The Director carries on from exactly where you stopped.
In WolfStorm (browser)

A session starts by itself when the first player joins. In WolfViewer you can also press Start a session for a booked one.
What you can do in the GM Console
| Tab | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Story | See the box the party is on, Advance, press Fire on any way on, jump to a box, set what the story remembers, change honour and reputation. |
| Cast | Possess a character to speak and move as them (their AI pauses), then Release. Move characters, remove them, or place characters and encounters from the spawn palette. |
| Narrate | Write a story card with up to 6 options and send it to the party, or whisper to one player. |
| Party | Call everyone to a spot (each player gets a teleport offer; nobody is moved without their own click), run a ready check, or end the story for a party. |
| Rewards | Give XP, money, items or a reward to a player or the party, within the owner’s limit per session. |
| World | Set the time of day, the weather (Clear, Fair, Cloudy, Overcast, Rain, Storm, Snow, Fog) and music. Time and weather need the region holder’s permission. |
| Rules | Ask for a check, run the turn order, start one of the story’s fights and play an enemy’s move (see Battles), and override the last rolls. |
| Assist | Ask the AI for ideas only you see: What could happen next?, read-aloud text, or a reply for a character. |
The top bar also has Camera, to move your camera anywhere, and Park me, which teleports your avatar out of the players’ way. The log on the right shows everything that happened.
