Online Safety

Last updated 26 October 2026. How to report a problem, what we do about it, how to appeal, and how we keep the grid safe.

If someone is in danger right now

If you or anyone else is in immediate danger, call 999 (in the UK) or your local emergency number first. Then tell us.

If an adult is asking a young person for sexual pictures or chat, or to meet up, you can also report it to the police's child protection team at CEOP.

If you are thinking about harming yourself, you can talk to Samaritans free, any time, on 116 123.

1. How to report something

You can report anything that breaks the law or our Terms of Service: a person, an object, a picture, a message, a place or an AI character. You do not need to be sure. If it worries you, report it.

In-world (fastest)

  • A person: right-click their avatar and choose Report.
  • An object: right-click it and choose Report Abuse (in the WolfStorm web viewer: Report...).
  • Anything else: in WolfViewer use Help > Report Abuse.

Choose the category that fits best, and add a short description of what happened. The report records where you are, the time and who or what you picked, so we can find it. In WolfViewer and Firestorm you can include a screenshot, unless it shows sexual content involving a child (see the warning below).

When we receive it, you get a message in-world with your ticket number and how quickly we aim to act.

On the website

  • Residents: log in and raise a support ticket. Choose the category Abuse report.
  • No account, or locked out? Use our contact page. Anyone can report, including people who are not residents, such as someone whose picture has been used without permission. If you have no avatar, put your own first and last name in the avatar name box.

Tell us the avatar names, the region, the time (roughly is fine) and what happened.

Sexual images of children: do not save or send them

If you see sexual pictures of a child, or of a child avatar, do not take a screenshot, save, copy or forward it, not even to us. Just report where it is, who posted it and when. We will find it, keep it safely for the police, and remove it. You can also report child abuse images anonymously to the Internet Watch Foundation.

Who finds out that you reported

Your report is seen only by our safety team. We do not tell the person you reported who made the report, and we do not show your report to other residents. If someone appeals one of our decisions, we tell them what the decision was and why, but not who reported them.

Keeping yourself safe straight away

  • Block someone to stop seeing their chat and messages: right-click them and choose Block.
  • Leave the region, or teleport home.
  • Region owners can ban someone from their region.

2. What happens next

  1. We confirm we have it. An in-world report or a website ticket becomes a support ticket that our team can see, and you can follow it on the website under My tickets. A message from the contact page goes to our team by email, and we reply to the email address you give.
  2. A member of our team looks at it and checks it against the law and our terms. Reports about children are always dealt with first.
  3. We act. Depending on what we find, we may:
    • remove the content;
    • warn the person;
    • suspend or permanently ban the account;
    • remove a region's listing;
    • report the matter to the police or the National Crime Agency;
    • or decide that no rule was broken.
    We record every action we take on an account, with the reason.
  4. We tell you the outcome on your ticket, or by email if you used the contact page. We may not be able to give details of action against another person.

How quickly

Child safety

Looked at within 1 hour while our team is online, and dealt with within 24 hours.

Threats and self-harm

Dealt with within 24 hours. If someone is in danger now, call 999. Samaritans: 116 123, free, any time.

Other illegal content, fraud, harassment and hate

Dealt with within 48 hours.

Other rule breaks

Dealt with within 5 working days (weekends and bank holidays in England and Wales are not counted).

These are our targets. A complicated case can take longer, and we will tell you if it does.

3. Complaints and appeals

You can complain or appeal if:

  • we removed something of yours, or took action against your account, and you think we got it wrong;
  • an automatic check (for example on AI characters) blocked something it should not have;
  • you think the age on your account is wrong, or you were refused entry to a region because of age;
  • you reported something and are unhappy with how we handled it;
  • you think we are not keeping to our safety duties.

How

Raise a support ticket and start the subject with Appeal. If your account is suspended and you cannot log in, use the contact page. Say what decision you are appealing and why, and add anything that helps.

What we do

  • We confirm we have your appeal, and we aim to answer it within 5 working days.
  • Where we can, someone who did not make the first decision looks at it again.
  • If we got it wrong, we put things back as far as we can (for example, restore content or lift a ban) and correct our guidance so it does not happen again.
  • We tell you the result and the reason.

If you think we have broken our terms with you, you also have the right to take the matter to court (see Governing law and disputes).

If you are still worried about how we handle safety, you can tell Ofcom, the UK online safety regulator. Ofcom does not settle individual complaints, but it uses them to check that services are doing enough.

4. How we keep the grid safe

  • Zero tolerance for illegal content. This includes child sexual abuse material, grooming, terrorism, extreme pornography, sharing intimate images without consent, hate crime, threats and fraud. We remove it quickly and ban the accounts involved.
  • No pornographic content anywhere on the grid, including Adult regions (terms section 6).
  • We report child sexual abuse to the National Crime Agency, as UK law requires, and we call the police when a child may be in danger.
  • Our team reviews reports and can remove content, return objects and ban accounts.
  • Automatic checks on AI. Our AI characters (WolfNPC) and AI adventures check what people say to them and what the AI writes back, and WolfAvatars checks every description before anything is made. They refuse sexual content at every rating, sexualised avatar designs, and harmful real-world instructions, such as for weapons or drugs, or anything encouraging self-harm. AI characters are told never to ask anyone for their real name, age, address, school or contact details. See AI characters and AI features.
  • Child avatars: any sexual behaviour or nudity involving a child avatar means an immediate, permanent ban (terms section 7).
  • Visitors from other grids (hypergrid) must follow our rules while they are on our regions.

5. How we protect under-18s

If the date of birth on your account shows you are under 18, your account has extra protection, switched on automatically. Our servers enforce it, whichever viewer you use:

  • Only your friends can send you private messages (IMs) or add you to a group conversation they start.
  • Only your friends can offer you items or send you calling cards.
  • Only your friends can send you teleport offers or teleport requests.
  • Only your friends can call you on private voice calls.
  • Friend requests only work when you and the other person are in the same region at the time, and nobody becomes your friend unless you accept.
  • Adult regions are closed to you. When you log in, your account is set to General and Moderate places only. If you are on a region when it becomes Adult, you are moved somewhere else.
  • This also applies to visitors from other grids who try to contact you.

When someone who is not your friend tries, they are told it did not go through. You do not see anything.

These protections need your date of birth. If your account does not have one yet, please add your date of birth.

Before you accept a friend request, remember that people online are not always who they say they are. Never share your address, school, phone number or photos of yourself. Never agree to move a chat to another app because a stranger asked. If anyone makes you uncomfortable, block them and report them. You will not be in trouble.

6. Region types

Every region has a type. The type tells you what to expect there.

General

Everyone 15 and over

Everyday social life, games and mild cartoon combat. No sexual content, no nudity, no graphic violence.

Moderate

Everyone 15 and over

Mature themes, moderate violence and horror, swearing, and non-sexual partial nudity such as swimwear. Nothing sexual.

Adult

18 and over

Strong violence and horror, strong language and adult themes. No pornographic or sexual content. Accounts whose date of birth shows they are under 18 cannot enter.

Adult Content Coming soon

Only adults who have passed an age check

Not open yet. It will be the only place where sexual content between adult avatars is allowed. To enter, you will need to pass a proper age check, such as photo ID. A date of birth will not be enough. Visitors from other grids will not be able to enter, because we cannot check their age. We will explain the check, and what we keep, before it opens.

Until Adult Content regions open, pornographic content is not allowed anywhere on the grid.

That includes Adult regions, private regions, homes, profiles, groups and messages. Some things are banned everywhere, always:

  • anything illegal;
  • any sexual content involving child or child-like avatars;
  • sexual content from AI;
  • content that encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.

7. Minimum age and your date of birth

You must be at least 15 years old to use Wolf Territories Grid. Everyone who joins must give their date of birth, and we do not accept anyone aged 14 or under.

If your account was made before we asked, please add your date of birth. You only do it once, and you can check it before it is saved. If you make a mistake, raise a support ticket to correct it.

If we find that an account belongs to someone aged 14 or under, we will close it. Giving a false date of birth breaks our terms. How we use your date of birth is explained in our Privacy Policy.

8. Who is responsible and how to contact us
