Wolf Territories Grid Sailing Club
WTGS — races, regattas and cruises across the whole grid.
Wolf Territories has open water from coast to coast. The Sailing Club brings sailors together to use it: regular sailing events held on waters right across the grid, open to every resident, whether you have sailed for years or have never touched a tiller.
Why Wolf Territories is made for sailing
In most virtual worlds the sea is cut into regions just 256 m across. Every edge is a region crossing, and region crossings are where boats stutter, stall, lose their crew or sink. On Wolf Territories one region can be up to 1,000 × 1,000 of those squares: 256 km of open water, with no borders to cross.
No region crossings
Your boat stays in one simulator for the whole race. No stalls, no sudden stops, no being thrown off at a border.
Room for real courses
Long beats, long runs and distance races over kilometres of open sea, not a few laps of a small pond.
The fleet stays together
Crew and passengers stay aboard and the whole fleet stays in one place, so racing feels like racing.
Our largest regions need WolfViewer or WolfStorm, which runs in your browser. Want your own stretch of sea? Regions of any size from 1 × 1 to 1,000 × 1,000 are on the Land Store.
Our crest
The club crest is drawn from the Wolf Territories Grid crest: the same navy and cream, the same shield quartered by a cream cross, the same banners. Where the grid crest carries the wolves of the grid, ours carries the sea.
The wolf
The Wolf Territories wolf head, first quarter, as on every part of the grid. The club belongs to the grid and its residents.
The sailboat
Sails set on open water. What the club is for: getting out on the water together.
The anchor
A safe harbour. Every sailor is welcome, and new sailors are helped along, not left behind.
The compass rose
Every point of the compass. Our events move around the grid, so each one is a new stretch of water to explore.
The ship's wheel
Behind the shield, the helm, bound in rope. Everyone takes a turn at the wheel.
The pennant
The WTGS burgee flies at the masthead. At the foot of the crest, below the waves, the club's name and the year it was founded: 2026.
Sailing events across the grid
The club will hold sailing events on waters all over Wolf Territories Grid, not just in one place. Each event is announced on the grid Events page with its date, time and where to meet.
Races and regattas
Course races round the marks and full regattas, for sailors who like to compete.
Cruises
Relaxed sails in company from one region to the next, seeing parts of the grid you may never have visited.
